Imaging

Dental Imaging

Our office uses digital imaging technology. X-rays are an integral part of assessing and diagnosing dental issues. Digital x-rays are superior to conventional x-rays because the image is rendered almost immediately and requires much less radiation. The images can be enhanced by software enabling earlier diagnosis and more conservative treatment.

Bitewing X-rays

Bitewing X-rays assist in diagnosing interproximal (between the teeth) cavities and levels around the teeth.

Periapical X-rays

Periapical X-rays help us evaluate the entire tooth and focus on any pathology at the tip of the root.

Panoramic X-rays

Panoramic X-rays allow us to see the entire dentition at once as well as other anatomical features. This image is beneficial in locating pathology (unusual growth and possible tumors) which we cannot see in other x-ray images.

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is used when three dimensional imaging is required. It allows us to see the size of pathological lesions or thickness of bone.
