 DENTAL SEDATION SERVICES

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous Oxide, sometimes called “laughing gas,” is one option we offer to help make you more comfortable during dental procedures. It is not intended to put you to sleep, simply relax you during treatment. You will be able to communicate with your dental treatment provider during your appointment. An escort is not necessary for appointments when nitrous oxide is used. At the end of the appointment you will breathe pure oxygen to remove the effects of the nitrous oxide.

Oral Sedatives

Oral Sedatives are prescribed to patients who would like a more significant relaxation medication. The patient will take pills by mouth before they arrive for their appointment. The use of this medication requires diet restriction and transportation provider. The benefit of this medication is an increased level of relaxation and partial or total amnesia.

Intravenous Sedation

Intravenous Sedation is another option for our patients. This modality of sedation will provide total relaxation with minimal to no memory of the procedure. An IV is started and medication is administered through the IV fluid. This type of sedation is administered by an anesthesia provider.
